Szczecin metropolitan region

Szczecin is one of the cross-border metropolitan regions. This dynamic economic area on the Baltic Sea between Poland and Germany has enormous growth potential with over 1.5 million inhabitants.

Direct networking with the Berlin metropolitan region creates the ideal prerequisites for successful joint German-Polish projects and cross-industry technology transfer. With its development into a smart city, Szczecin is resolutely focusing on digitisation and new technologies. So are we.

Our capital

  • 200 scientific institutions in Berlin and Szczecin alone, including universities of excellence
  • 100,000 scientists and scholars
  • 200,000 students

This is our raw material for the digital age and an increasingly knowledge-based society.

Pasewalk location

Pasewalk offers attractive industrial and commercial space particularly to companies from the Berlin economic area
who are willing to expand. Pasewalk is an alternative especially for companies with internet-based business models. But companies from Szczecin who want to tap into the German market will also find a good outsourcing location for their activities here. The entire Vorpommern-Greifswald district, but especially Pasewalk, benefits from the growth drivers Berlin and Szczecin.

  • The Welcome Center Stettiner Haff in Pasewalk, opened on 28 June 2019, makes it easier for companies from Germany and abroad to enter the Vorpommern market – a unique locational advantage
  • The availability of industrial and commercial space, broadband internet and affordable housing make Pasewalk particularly attractive for companies from southern and western Germany, but also from Poland, as part of the Szczecin metropolitan region.
  • Due to rising real estate costs and a strained traffic situation, professionals from Berlin are increasingly keen to move with their families to the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, which has always been a very popular tourist location for people from Berlin (“Berlin’s bathtub”).

A good place to live and work

The small town of Pasewalk is the opposite of an anonymous big city. Small-scale development, individuality and visions are in harmony with each other here. Cultural highlights such as Schloss Bröllin and the Kulturforum provide stimulating variety. Sports and recreational opportunities offer all ages many alternatives for meaningful freetime activities.

  • Pasewalk offers affordable real estate and a high quality of life – families in particular feel really at home here.
  • Nestled in the traditional vacation region of Stettiner Haff, the Pasewalk region is particularly popular with Berliners.
  • Healthcare is a top priority in Pasewalk: local specialists and a hospital providing basic and standard care with over 300 beds, which is also an academic teaching hospital, offer top-quality medical care.
  • Very pleasing: Here you will find available daycare places and an appealing range of schools.
